How do you manage to juggle work, study, training, social life etc./any wise words for aspiring water polo players?

Make sure you are organised and keep on top of everything - prioritise.

 

When did you start playing water polo?

I got asked to play in an Under 12 Waitakere team bevause I could swim, and I loved it so I continued to play.

 

What is your favourite water polo memory at home?

Winning my first gold medal at Under 16 Nationals with North Harbour.

 

What has been your international water polo highlight?

Team - FINA Youth World Champs in Spain, 2014, and beating Australia in the schoolgirls test series last year.

Own - being the top goal scorer for our team at Youth Worlds.

 

When your alarm goes off at 5:30 in the morning, what gets you out of bed?

"I'm awake now, may as well go it will be good for me!"

What are you looking to accomplish in water polo? Why do you play?

I get to travel the world with some of my closest friends, playing the sport I love. I want to continue to be and improve to be the best possible player I can - fingers crossed for 2020 Olympics.

 

What is the biggest barrier for you playing water polo?

Being able to find the balance between training/games, all my school work, and my social life.

 

What has New Zealand Water Polo given you personally?

You get to make an amazing bunch of friends who have similar interests and a common goal.

You learn how to break physical and mental barriers to become the best you can be.

You get to go to beautiful countries.
