How do you manage to juggle work, study, training, social life etc./any wise words for aspiring water polo players?

Being organised is essential to ensure you are reaching both sporting and academic goals. Make sure you always prioritise what’s important to you and work hard to achieve your goals. Down time and listening to when your body needs rest is also very important.

When did you start playing water polo?

Year 6 for St Cuthbert’s College but didn’t become a Goalie until Year 8.

What is your favourite water polo memory at home?

Winning 2015 New Zealand U16 Club Championships after being 3 goals down going into the last quarter and winning in penalty shoot out. I have never been so proud to be a part of such a team before.

What has been your international water polo highlight?

Going to the 2014 Youth World Championships and being the New Zealand representative in the opening ceremony.

One day making it to the Olympics, hopefully the 2020 Olympics!

What is the biggest barrier for you playing water polo?

  • Trying to manage school/training balance

  • Getting run down from time to time

What has New Zealand Water Polo given you personally?

Belief in my abilities even when I didn’t myself and the ability to travel the world with some of my closest friends.
