Pōwhiri welcome for teams

Haere mai and welcome to the 2015 FINA Water Polo World League Women's Intercontinental Tournament. The weather in Auckland may not have been ideal, but that's the beauty of an indoor sport and the rain is expected to clear in the coming days.

The athletes were treated to a pōwhiri and performance from the local Te Roopu Manutaki Māori group at the Heritage Hotel, Auckland this afternoon. The top sides from the United States, China, Australia, Japan, Canada, Kazakhstan, Brasil, and the hosting New Zealand women will meet in their first matches tomorrow afternoon. Competition kicks off tomorrow from 3:00pm at West Wave Aquatic Centre - welcome to Auckland!
